Silence is golden. Sometimes.

Whats with all the noise?

Peace and quiet is nice all but what about the rest of the time?  There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t take a step back and drown my mind in the music. In fact, I tend to do this as often as I can, whether it’s to wake myself up in the morning or just to fill the silence as I go from point A to point B. But saying this is as pointless as saying I like to sleep. Everybody likes to sleep, just as everybody likes music. That’s what makes it so great.

Thank you Captain Obvious…

Everyone has their own musical tastes, I know this is prett clear. But the awesome thing is the infinite amount of creative possibilities that the world of music gives us. From dub-step to jazz, rock and roll, classical, rap and everything in between, there is always an audience that understands and can connect with it on a personal level. If you happen to not enjoy a certain genre, it’s probably just because you don’t understand it in the context it’s meant to be appreciated. Don’t feel bad, everyone’s brain is different. But don’t be a musical snob either. Everyone’s brain is different.

What are YOU listening to then?

This brings me to the point of today’s post. One of the greatest joys I encounter in day to day life is simply hearing a song for the first time, a completely new combination of sounds, beats and rhythms, and having my brain tell myself “damn, this song is awesome.” I’m sure you’ve heard that one of the steps to obtaining eternal happiness is finding it every day in the world around you. Well music is one of those things, it’s not going anywhere and it will never get old. We’re one step closer on the pursuit of happiness guys. You just need to remember to stop for a moment and appreciate it. Fortunately with this great thing call the internet and social networking, I don’t have to keep this infinite supply of good feelings to myself. You may not like some of it, but I did, and sharing is caring so why not.

Check out this one I heard the other day by Madeon, a progressive house producer from france. (This is my way of playing around and learning the capabilities of wordpress as well. Success!)
